Privacy policy

Don't Wake the Cat · last updated 4 October 2026

The short version: Don't Wake the Cat collects nothing. No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics sent anywhere. Your focus history stays on your iPhone.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no servers that receive data from it, no sign-in, and no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code.

What stays on your device

  • Your sessions and settings. Focus history, labels, goals, collected compliment cards, Cat Notes and nap spots are saved in the app's own storage on your iPhone, shared only with the app's widgets. Deleting the app deletes them.
  • Motion. The app reads the motion sensors to tell when your phone is face down. Readings are used in the moment and never saved or sent anywhere.
  • App blocking (Screen Time). If you turn on app blocking, iOS shows its own app picker. The apps you choose are stored by iOS as private tokens the app can't read as names, are used only to block those apps during a session, and never leave your device.
  • Notifications. If you allow them, the chime at the end of a nap is scheduled on your device.
  • Sharing. A compliment card only leaves your phone if you choose to share or save it with the system share sheet.

Purchases

Don't Wake the Cat Pro is sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment and your account details under its own privacy policy; we never see your name, payment card or Apple Account. The app only learns whether Pro is active.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and because it collects no personal information, there is nothing to review, export or delete on our side.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
